Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Dan River ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Liberty 5-4. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wildcats.

The victory got Dan River back to even at 11-11. As for Patrick County, their win bumped their record up to 12-7-1.

Patrick County might still be hurting after the 11-1 loss they got from Dan River in their previous meeting back in June of 2025. Can the Cougars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
