Brackenridge proved they can win big last Thursday (they won by 15) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Jefferson Mustangs 3-2. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 6-2 back in March.

Ernesto Nunez was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Brackenridge is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-12 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Jefferson, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 12-12.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Brackenridge will square off against rival Highlands at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Jefferson is set to take on their familiar foe Edison at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Mustangs 3.8, the Golden Bears 2.3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
