Tarboro took down Rocky Mount Prep 78-14 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Riverside made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 7,467 from 8,001. The improvement was largely due to a 56-14 victory over North Edgecombe last week.
Iran James was a key player and the best on defense this week as Riverside topped the Warriors. The 5-foot-10 senior pulled down 1 interception.
Keion Crossen provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Northampton County defeated South Creek.
Clay Wagner put up the best numbers through the air as Asim McGill's team defeated North Edgecombe. He finished with 4 completions for 107 yards and 2 touchdowns. Wagner's favorite target this week was Ziree Rodgers, who caught 3 passes for 73 yards.
Riverside's Wagner and Daniel Everett have formed a dream team this season, leading 1A Conference 9 in both passing and receiving yards. 5-10 quarterback Wagner has thrown for 725 yards this season, while Everett has 14 catches for 340 yards. The Jaguars' Crossen leads the league in rushing yards with 1,190.
As it stands, the Vikings are in first, while Riverside is in third.
Tarboro led the league in scoring this week by notching 78 points on Rocky Mount Prep.
