Basketball Recap: Sweetwater Skates Past Greenback with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Sweetwater). They blew past the Greenback Cherokees, posting a 70-23 win. While the Wildcats didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Sweetwater's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Nolan Dacus led the charge by as he made all 5 shots he took racking up 10 points and three steals. That's the most points Dacus has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryson Burgess, who posted ten points and three steals.

The victory (which was Sweetwater's third in a row) raised their record to 7-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.0 points per game. As for Greenback, they dropped their record down to 0-4 with the defeat, which was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Sweetwater will welcome Gibbs at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Gibbs' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven games. As for Greenback, they will venture away from home to square off against Rockwood at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Rockwood is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.4 points per game this season.
