Basketball Recap: San Mateo Takes a Loss

San Mateo was the 45-35 winner over El Camino when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The San Mateo Bearcats took a 56-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of the El Camino Colts on Friday.

San Mateo's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 9-1 and their overall record down to 17-5. As for El Camino, they pushed their record up to 16-6 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

San Mateo and El Camino should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. San Mateo will take on Terra Nova at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday up 318 places (219 vs. 537). San Mateo will be looking to extend their current 12-game winning streak. Meanwhile, El Camino (ranked 406th) will meet Oceana (ranked 1034th) at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
