Swansboro proved they can win big on Monday (they won by three) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a set and slipped past the White Oak Vikings 3-2. The Pirates have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Vikings, too.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Swansboro who won the one that mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 22-25, 25-14, 23-25, 15-13.

Reese Hislop paced Swansboro's offense, picking up nine kills. Hislop got some help from Payton Hislop and her 18 assists. Reese was also solid from the service line: she led the team with eight aces.

Swansboro's win bumped their record up to 2-0.

Swansboro didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Pamlico County on the 13th. As for White Oak, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-2 win against Dixon on the 13th.
