Softball Recap: Castlewood's Victory on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Seven

Castlewood waltzed into their match on Saturday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured an 8-7 W against the Deuel Cardinals. That's more bragging rights for the Warriors, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Castlewood's victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Deuel, the defeat snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 6-2 record.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Castlewood will face off against Elkton/Lake Benton at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Deuel, they will host Flandreau at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cardinals will need to watch out since the Fliers have now posted at least ten runs in their last five games.
