Baseball Game Preview: Clint Lions vs. Mountain View Lobos

For the second straight game, Clint will face off against Mountain View. The Lions will take on the Lobos at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Clint is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.

Clint barely beat Mountain View the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Lions blew past the Lobos 8-2 on Tuesday.

Nomar Maldonado was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. He has become a key player for Clint: the team is 7-0-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 9-11 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Kevin Pacheco, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Clint has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-11-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.9 runs over those games. As for Mountain View, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-13-1.

Thursday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Clint has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .445.
