Volleyball Recap: Newnan Falls Short of Pope in the Playoffs + How To Watch

Newnan and Pope squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Newnan had to settle for second. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Greyhounds. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Greyhounds apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in August of 2019.

The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-12, 21-25, 25-10.

Kaycie Brown paced Newnan's offense, picking up 14 kills. Brown got some help from Mia West and her 19 assists. West was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Newnan's loss ended a four-match streak of away wins and brought them to 32-14. As for Pope, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 30-8 record this season.

Newnan does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Pope, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-1 win against Johns Creek on the 22nd.
