The Vista Ridge Rangers are taking a road trip to challenge the Dripping Springs Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Vista Ridge's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points in their last five matchups.
On Friday, Vista Ridge didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Round Rock Westwood, but they still walked away with a 38-34 win.

Vista Ridge got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jonah spikes out in front who rushed for 131 yards and two TDs on only 12 carries. The Rangers also got help from Kieran Paegle, who showed off his sure hands for 135 receiving yards.
Vista Ridge's run defense was locked in: Round Rock Westwood could only muster 2.2 yards per carry. While three picked up at least five total tackles, Wyatt Porowski stood above the rest. He picked up a sack and made five total tackles (2.0 for loss). Vista Ridge's run defense has been on the up-and-up: they allowed 4.6 yards per carry earlier this season, but they've only allowed 7.77 on average over their last five games.
Vista Ridge didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Cameron Pietrzak, Carson Miller, and Dom Acevedo picked up one apiece.
Meanwhile, Dripping Springs hadn't done well against Westlake recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Tigers walked away with a 45-35 win over the Chaparrals. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tigers.
Vista Ridge better keep an eye on Chase Ames. He was instrumental in Dripping Springs' win, throwing for 412 yards and five touchdowns while completing 73.5% of his passes, and also rushing for 33 yards. Those 412 passing yards gave Ames a new career-high. James Montgomery also helped out as he racked up 114 receiving yards.
Vista Ridge's record now sits at 7-3. As for Dripping Springs, their record is now 9-1.
Vista Ridge might still be hurting after the 34-14 loss they got from Dripping Springs in their previous meeting back in November of 2023. Thankfully for the Rangers, Maddox Maher (who threw for 283 yards and four TDs while picking up 13.5 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 41 yards) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
