Recap: Arickaree Bison vs. Sierra Grande Panthers
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for The Arickaree Bison, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They took a serious blow against Sierra Grande on Saturday, falling 66-20. Arickaree was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-12.
Several Bison players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Austin Wright, who rushed for 131 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 70 yards and a touchdown. Dillon Noletubby also helped out as he racked up 100 rushing yards.
Brian Ontiveros was a one-man wrecking crew for Sierra Grande as he picked up 119 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in two touchdowns on the ground. Ontiveros was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 63 yards. Tyler Kester made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Arickaree has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-4 record this season. As for Sierra Grande, their victory bumped their record up to 7-3.
Arickaree does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Sierra Grande will head out on the road to face off against Stratton at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Stratton is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
