Dimmitt extends road losing streak to three

Recap: Dimmitt Bobcats vs. Sanford-Fritch Eagles

The Dimmitt Bobcats lost against the Sanford-Fritch Eagles back in December of 2017, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Dimmitt fell 59-49 to Sanford-Fritch. While losing is never fun, Dimmitt can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1269th, while Sanford-Fritch is ranked 594th).

Dimmitt's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Frankie Cortez, who scored 13 points along with 5 rebounds and 5 steals. Cortez is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Mario Lopez, who scored 6 points along with 7 steals and 6 rebounds.

Dimmitt bumped their record down to 1-4 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Sanford-Fritch, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Dimmitt will square off against Groom at 10:10 a.m. on Saturday. As for Sanford-Fritch, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Miami at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
