Basketball Recap: Colter Banes Key Part of a Team Effort in Wildcats Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Montrose, Bronaugh was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They put the hurt on the Chilhowee Indians with a sharp 63-39 win. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Indians recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Bronaugh got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Colter Banes out in front who went 7 of 14 to rack up 17 points along with seven steals and five rebounds. The dominant performance gave Banes a new career-high in steals. Another player making a difference was Luke Bowling, who went 10 for 21 en route to 25 points and four steals.

Bronaugh smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in 13 consecutive games.

Bronaugh's victory bumped their record up to 10-12. As for Chilhowee, their loss was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-14.

Looking ahead, Bronaugh will head out to face off against Miami at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Chilhowee, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Warsaw at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Chilhowee is facing Warsaw at the right time seeing as Warsaw is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
