Baseball Recap: Wendell Takes a Loss

Wendell came into this matchup off a tough eight-run loss on Thursday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Grangeville Bulldogs by a score of 3-1 on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Trojans of the 12-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Wendell saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Adrian Nava, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Wendell has also been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-9-1 record this season. As for Grangeville, they pushed their record up to 7-5 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, Wendell will welcome Declo at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Grangeville, they have already played their next contest, a 6-5 victory against North Fremont on the 12th.
