Volleyball Recap: Mt. Morris Comes Up Short

Mt. Morris entered their contest against Powers Catholic on Saturday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Panthers fell just short of the Chargers by a score of 1-0. If the Panthers were looking for revenge after losing 1-0 to the Chargers when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Mt. Morris' defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Powers Catholic, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-4.

Looking ahead, Mt. Morris will face off against Yale at 8:00 a.m. on Friday. As for Powers Catholic, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Freeland at 5:00 p.m. on September 3.
