Basketball Game Preview: Washington Rams vs. Kellis Cougars

The Washington Rams will head out to square off against the Kellis Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Washington will bounce into Tuesday's match after beating Buckeye, who they had gone 0-8 against in their eight prior meetings. Washington enjoyed a cozy 61-47 victory over Buckeye on Thursday. That looming 61-47 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Rams yet this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Kellis). They breezed by Independence to the tune of 86-59 on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Cougars have posted since December 11, 2023.

Washington better keep an eye on Jordan Parrish. He was instrumental in Kellis' win, dropping a double-double on 25 points and 11 boards. Parrish has become a key player for Kellis: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least eight rebounds, but 2-4 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Gak Kueth, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 rebounds.

Kellis was working as a unit and finished the game with 22 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in December of 2023.

Kellis pushed their record up to 4-5 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.0 points per game. As for Washington, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-2.

Washington suffered a grim 84-61 defeat to Kellis in their previous matchup back in November of 2021. Thankfully for Washington, Chris Ruiz (who dropped a triple-double on 24 points, 13 boards, and 11 assists) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
