The SA Roosevelt Rough Riders on the road again on Friday and play against the Madison Mavericks at 5:00 p.m. on January 19th. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

SA Roosevelt suffered their biggest loss since December 8, 2023 on Tuesday. They were beaten by Lee 62-33. SA Roosevelt has struggled against Lee recently, as their matchup on Tuesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Madison's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their seventh straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 58-36 walloping at the hands of Churchill. While losing is never fun, Madison can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 597th, while Churchill is ranked 174th).

Despite the loss, Madison got a solid performance out of Nadia Bailey, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. That was a full 47.2% of Madison's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Yazmin Torrez, who scored seven points along with five rebounds and three steals.

SA Roosevelt has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost 16 of their last 18 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-21 record this season. As for Madison, their loss dropped their record down to 12-18.

SA Roosevelt came up short against Madison in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 38-29. Can SA Roosevelt avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
