Soccer Recap: Wheatmore Comes Up Short

If Wheatmore was feeling good fresh off their 5-0 takedown of Lexington Senior on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Warriors came up short against the Southeast Guilford Falcons on Thursday, falling 6-1. One reason for the loss might be Wheatmore's aggressive play style: Carter Queen and Suarez Ortiz were both handed yellow cards.

Wheatmore's goal came courtesy of Ortiz, who's now up to six this season.

Wheatmore's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-3. As for Southeast Guilford, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-5-1.

Wheatmore didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next contest, a 4-1 defeat against Randleman on the 22nd. As for Southeast Guilford, they have also already played their next match, a 4-2 loss against North Forsyth on the 22nd.
