Baseball Recap: Whitwell Victorious

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Whitwell ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-6 victory over the Marion County Warriors. For the Tigers, this counts as revenge for the 1-0 win the Warriors walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2023.

Whitwell saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Colin Beason, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI and two runs. Those three hits gave Beason a new career-high.

Whitwell's victory bumped their record up to 18-10-1. As for Marion County, their loss dropped their record down to 17-14.

Whitwell has already played their next matchup, a 5-0 win against South Pittsburg on the 4th. As for Marion County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Chattanooga School for the Arts & Sciences on the 4th.
