Basketball Recap: Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate Comes Up Short

Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 34-30 heartbreaker at the hands of the Bayshore Christian Faith Warriors.

Despite the defeat, Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate saw an underclassman step up: freshman Jasani Andrews posted 18 points and six boards. That was a full 60% of Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's had more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Emerie Bohannon-Chenault, who put up five points and six steals.

Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate's loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Bayshore Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 6-5 record this season.

As for Bayshore Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 47-30 victory against Foundation Christian Academy on the 20th.
