Basketball Game Preview: Wilkes Central Eagles vs. West Wilkes Blackhawks

Wilkes Central is 2-8 against West Wilkes since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Wilkes Central Eagles will welcome the West Wilkes Blackhawks at 5:30 p.m.

Wilkes Central will head into Saturday's matchup out to bounce back: they won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Saturday. They were outmatched by Starmount and fell 51-18. The Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-9.

Meanwhile, West Wilkes didn't have too much trouble with Elkin last Saturday as they won 47-29.

Wilkes Central's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for West Wilkes, their win bumped their record up to 4-6.

Things could have been worse for Wilkes Central, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 59-42 loss to West Wilkes in their previous matchup back in February. Can Wilkes Central avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
