Meanwhile, Tellico Plains had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-6 win over McMinn Central on Wednesday. Skyler Day spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and four unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up nine Ks.
On the hitting side, Kadence Moses was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Kalli Yates-Matoy, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Copper Basin's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-4. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Tellico Plains, their win bumped their record up to 3-8.
