Basketball Recap: Highland Takes a Loss

Highland came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 75-54 to the New Paltz Huguenots. While losing is never fun, the Huskies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 526th, while the Huguenots are ranked 52nd).

Highland moved to 11-8 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for New Paltz, they pushed their record up to 18-2 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home.

Highland does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for New Paltz, they will be playing at home against Red Hook at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. New Paltz knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine contests -- so hopefully Red Hook likes a good challenge.
