Softball Recap: Princeton Takes a Loss

Princeton had lost three straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 3-9 to make it four. They came up short against Evansville Memorial, falling 17-0. Princeton was not able to make up for their loss to Evansville Memorial from their previous meeting back in May of 2023.

As for Evansville Memorial, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-5. Considering they have won six matches by more than nine runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

For Evansville Memorial's part, they got a massive performance out of Madison Thomas, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Allie Musgrove also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Looking ahead, Princeton will take on Gibson Southern at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Evansville Memorial, they will take on Evansville Mater Dei in a tournament on Saturday. The Tigers are facing the Wildcats at the right time seeing as the Wildcats are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
