Basketball Recap: Afton Takes a Loss

Afton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 16th straight defeat dating back to last season. They received a blow as they fell 64-45 to the Harpursville Hornets. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 64-55 back in December of 2024.

Afton's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Harpursville, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Afton has already played their next game (against Delaware Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Harpursville won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Greene at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Harpursville is facing Greene at the right time seeing as Greene is stuck on a ten-game losing streak.
