Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask North Star). Their defense stepped up to hand the Ligonier Valley Rams a 6-0 shutout on Thursday. Kylee Lepley was a massive factor in the win as she booted in three goals all by herself.
The victory got North Star back to even at 4-4. As for Ligonier Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Star will challenge Everett at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. North Star will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more goals each matchup than the last. As for Ligonier Valley, they are on the road again on Wednesday to play East Allegheny at 6:00 p.m.
