Softball Recap: Warren Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Victory

Warren lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Stuttgart, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Thursday's match. The Warren Lumberjacks blew past the Stuttgart Ricebirds 26-9 on Thursday. That 17 run margin sets a new team best for the Lumberjacks this season.

Raeleigh Milton spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and five unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up six Ks. Those six strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

At the plate, Ember Johnson was incredible, going 4-for-5 with one home run, six runs, and three doubles. Those doubles marked the first that she hit this season. Another player making a difference was Haven Johnson, who went 4-for-6 with four runs, four RBI, and one stolen base.

Warren always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .660. Their OBP was a full 0 higher than the also-impressive .516 that Stuttgart posted.

The victory keeps them at an undefeated 5-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Stuttgart, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Warren will head out to face off against Drew Central at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Stuttgart, they are taking a road trip to challenge Heber Springs at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
