Basketball Game Preview: Kindred Vikings vs. Grafton Spoilers

The Kindred Vikings will face off against the Grafton Spoilers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Kindred knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight games -- so hopefully Grafton likes a good challenge.

Last Tuesday, Kindred didn't have too much trouble with Central Cass as they won 66-51. Given the Vikings' advantage in MaxPreps' North Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked third, while the Squirrels are ranked 51st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Grafton lost 70-47 to Devils Lake on Tuesday. The match marked the Spoilers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Kindred pushed their record up to 8-0 with the victory, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.6 points per game. As for Grafton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season.

Kindred didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Grafton in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, but they still walked away with a 74-68 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Kindred since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
