Soccer Recap: Sharpstown Comes Up Short

Sharpstown and Bastrop squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Sharpstown had to settle for second. While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was the Bears who were credited with the win. The Bastrop Bears got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to the Sharpstown Apollos' two. Sharpstown were red-hot offensively heading into the game (they scored no less than four goals in the three contests prior), but Bastrop's defense proved too tough.

With the defeat, Sharpstown broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 15-9. As for Bastrop, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-1-6.
