Basketball Game Preview: Trinity Christian Crusaders vs. Gatewood Gators

Trinity Christian and Gatewood are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2017, but not for long. The Trinity Christian Crusaders just played last yesterday, but they'll still welcome the Gatewood Gators at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Trinity Christian is looking for their season's first win.

On Monday, Trinity Christian ended up a good deal behind Tattnall Square Academy and lost 66-49. While losing is never fun, the Crusaders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 574th, while the Trojans are ranked 179th).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Gatewood). They enjoyed a cozy 84-66 victory over Augusta Prep Day on Saturday.

Trinity Christian better keep an eye on Matt Allen. He was instrumental in Gatewood's win, going 20 of 36 on his way to 52 points along with eight boards and five steals. The contest was Allen's 42nd in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaden Keiser, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.

Gatewood pushed their record up to 12-3 with the win, which was their 20th straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 28.6 points. As for Trinity Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-14.
