Football Recap: UME Preparatory Academy Starts Season with Loss on the Road

UME Preparatory Academy had to start their season on the road on Saturday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They were beaten by the Mercy Culture Prep Royals 42-0.

A big part of Mercy Culture Prep's win came down to the chemistry between Gage Seeley and his top target Walker Hughes. Seeley threw for 130 yards and two touchdowns while Hughes picked up 49 receiving yards and a pair of scores. The dominant performance also gave Hughes a new career-high in receiving touchdowns (two).

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. UME Preparatory Academy will head out to take on Gateway Charter Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Mercy Culture Prep, they will venture away from home to face off against Newman International Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
