Baseball Game Preview: El Monte Lions vs. Marshall Eagles

El Monte is 0-10 against Marshall since April of 2021 but things could change on Wednesday. The Lions will welcome the Eagles at 3:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Monday just wasn't the day for El Monte's offense. They lost 14-0 to Arroyo on Monday.

El Monte saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Selvin Betancourth, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. That stolen base marked the first that Betancourth has snagged this season.

Meanwhile, Marshall came up short against St. Monica on Tuesday, falling 21-3.

Marshall's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for El Monte, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-8.

El Monte suffered a grim 12-0 defeat to Marshall in their previous meeting back in May of 2025. Can the Lions avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
