Football Recap: Centennial Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Centennial fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Santa Margarita on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 33-27 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles. The Huskies were not able to make up for their loss to the Eagles from their previous meeting back in August of 2024.

Trace Johnson was nothing short of spectacular for Santa Margarita: he threw for 209 yards and a pair of TDs, and also punched in one score on the ground. Jaion Smith handled things on the ground, rushing for 82 yards.

Centennial's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Santa Margarita, the victory also got them back to even at 1-1.

Coming up, Centennial will be playing at home against Bingham at 7:00 p.m. on September 6. As for Santa Margarita, they are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will face off against Highland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
