Baseball Recap: Midway Comes Up Short

Midway and Rockwall squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Midway had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Yellowjackets by a score of 5-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Yellowjackets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-1 on Thursday.

This is the second loss in a row for Midway and nudges their season record down to 22-11-1. Even worse, they were so close both times: the defeats came by an average of only 1.5 runs. As for Rockwall, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a massive bump to their 22-14-3 record this season.

Midway does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Rockwall, they will take on Grand Oaks on Saturday. The Grizzlies' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Yellowjackets' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
