Baseball Recap: Blacksburg Comes Up Short

Blacksburg lost against Blue Ridge back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Wildcats came up short against the Fighting Tigers, falling 7-1. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Blacksburg's defeat dropped their record down to 5-16. As for Blue Ridge, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 9-10 record.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Blacksburg will challenge Oakbrook Prep at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Knights' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Wildcats' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Blue Ridge, they will take on Daniel at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Lions will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Fighting Tigers surely won't give up without a fight.
