Recap: Teague Lions vs. Buffalo Bison
The Teague Lions had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. The stars were shining brightly for them in a 56-42 victory over Buffalo. Given Teague's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 250th, while Buffalo is ranked 1194th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Teague's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jolee Haley led the charge by scoring 25 points along with four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of A'shaiya Jones, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds.
Teague's victory was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-5. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.9 points per game. As for Buffalo, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-13.
Teague will be staying on the road on December 27th to face off against Village at 12:30 p.m. on December 27th. After both having extra time off, Buffalo and New Waverly will shake off the cobwebs and face off against one another at 1:00 p.m. on December 29th.
