Havelock hadn't done well against New Bern recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Havelock Rams were the clear victor by an 82-57 margin over the New Bern Bears. The Rams' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Havelock's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaylen Hewitt, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jalen Morgan, who went 6 of 8 on his way to 14 points.

Havelock smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in six consecutive matches.

The win got Havelock back to even at 3-3. As for New Bern, they now have a losing record at 2-3.

Havelock and West Carteret will compete for holiday cheer at 8:00 p.m. on December 20th. West Carteret is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 73.7 points per game this season. New Bern will take on Pamlico County in a holiday battle at at 2:00 p.m. on December 21st.
