Basketball Game Preview: Herington Railroaders vs. Northern Heights Wildcats

The Herington Railroaders will square off against the Northern Heights Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many points in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Last Friday, Herington came up short against Goessel and fell 36-24. The Railroaders haven't had much luck with the Bluebirds recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

The losing side was boosted by Leslyn Kremeier, who posted 14 points and three steals. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last four times she's played. Adrian Harrison also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

Meanwhile, Northern Heights is still winless after their contest against West Franklin on Friday, but the team can take solace in the fact it was the closest they've come to winning. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-0 heartbreaker at the hands of the Falcons.

Northern Heights' defeat dropped their record down to 0-15-2. As for Herington, their loss dropped their record down to 6-11.

Herington strolled past Northern Heights in their previous meeting back in January of 2024 by a score of 56-38. Will Herington repeat their success, or does Northern Heights have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
