Scottsburg and Borden are an even 3-3 against one another since May of 2018, but likely not for long. The Warriors will look to defend their home field on Saturday against the Braves at 11:00 a.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Scottsburg will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Tuesday, then bounced right back against Eastern on Thursday. The Warriors blew past the Musketeers 13-5. The win continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Musketeers: they've now won four in a row.

Garrett McClellan was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits (and not a single walk). He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brandt Kendall, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Paxton Copple, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

Meanwhile, Borden never let their opponents score on Thursday. They put the hurt on Henryville with a sharp 12-0 victory. The Braves might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by ten runs or more this season.

Borden has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Scottsburg, their victory bumped their record up to 9-2.

Scottsburg took their win against Borden when the teams last played back in April of 2023 by a conclusive 13-3 score. Do the Warriors have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Braves turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
