Basketball Recap: David Crockett Beats Unicoi County for Their 13th Straight Win

David Crockett had already won 12 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 30.6 points) and they went ahead and made it 13 on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Unicoi County Blue Devils 78-43. The Pioneers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 19 games by 20 points or more this season.

Leading David Crockett to victory were Aaliyah Story and Brylee Tullock. Story dropped a double-double with 16 points and 11 boards, while Tullock dropped a double-double with 21 points and ten rebounds. Tullock's evening made it five games in a row in which she has scored at least 18 points. Another player making a difference was Laney Britton, who posted 12 points.

David Crockett smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in 16 consecutive contests.

David Crockett pushed their record up to 29-3 with the victory, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.5 points over those games. As for Unicoi County, their loss dropped their record down to 13-17.

Looking ahead, David Crockett will square off against Tennessee at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Unicoi County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
