The Metea Valley Mustangs will take on the Plainfield South Cougars at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Metea Valley is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season.

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Metea Valley and Glenbard North, and Glenbard North kept the tradition alive. Metea Valley took a 9-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of Glenbard North on Wednesday.

Grace Feeley made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. Maielle Ernser was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-3.

Feeley wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Metea Valley lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in April of 2024.

Meanwhile, Plainfield South posted their closest victory since May 1, 2024 on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Willowbrook 7-5. The Cougars' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Plainfield South's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Metea Valley, they dropped their record down to 1-4 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
