Softball Recap: Pottsville Wins Going Away Against Our Lady of Lourdes Regional

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Blue Mountain, Pottsville was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 15-9 margin over the Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Red Raiders. The Crimson Tide might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by six runs or more this season.

Cadence Borger was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those two hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jes Siminitus, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Pottsville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .513. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Pottsville now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Our Lady of Lourdes Regional, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.

Coming up, Pottsville will challenge Pine Grove at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Cardinals will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something the Crimson Tide surely won't give up without a fight. As for Our Lady of Lourdes Regional, they will face off against Tamaqua at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Red Raiders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Blue Raiders have averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season.
