Basketball Recap: Jeremiah Chalwe and Adin Smajlovic Secure Win for Mather

There's no place like home for Mather, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They were the clear victor by an 81-55 margin over the Alcott Wildcats on Monday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Rangers also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.

Mather was led to victory by Adin Smajlovic and Jeremiah Chalwe. Smajlovic posted 27 points, while Chalwe scored 21 points. The matchup was Smajlovic's fifth in a row with at least ten points.

Mather's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-9. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.3 points per game. As for Alcott, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-8 record this season.

Mather didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 60-56 defeat against Amundsen on the 21st. As for Alcott, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 72-18 victory against Marine Leadership Academy on the 22nd.
