Softball Recap: St. Scholastica Comes Up Short

St. Scholastica extended their losing streak to six on Monday, dropping them down to 5-13-1. They fell 9-5 to the Cabrini Crescents. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Doves of the 5-3 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2025.

Karsen Boyet was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season.

As for Cabrini, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-13 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games.

On Cabrini's side, Makayla Richoux spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned runs on nine hits and racked up eight Ks.

On the hitting side, Gabriella Goodick was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Lindsey Thibodeaux, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. St. Scholastica will challenge St. Michael at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cabrini, they will venture away from home to take on Chalmette at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
