Baseball Recap: Kearny Comes Up Short

Kearny was the 1-0 winner over Hoover when they last played one another back in May of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Komets fell just short of the Cardinals by a score of 6-5 on Tuesday.

Chris Davila stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: he went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Benicio Gonzalez Kim, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Kearny's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 7-13. As for Hoover, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-18.

While Kearny had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
