Basketball Recap: Serra Catholic Makes It Eight in a Row at Home

It's playoff time, and Serra Catholic had no trouble coming through when it counted. They took down the Summit Academy Knights 80-61 on Wednesday. The win was familiar territory for the Eagles, who have now won four matchups in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Serra Catholic to victory, but perhaps none more so than Owen Dumbroski, who went 10-for-19 to rack up 25 points along with seven assists and six boards. The contest was Dumbroski's third in a row with at least 25 points. Another player making a difference was Mark Johnson, who posted 19 points in addition to six assists and six rebounds.

Dumbroski wasn't the only one working in the assist department: Serra Catholic was working as a unit and finished the game with 24 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in January of 2024.

Serra Catholic pushed their record up to 20-3 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.9 points over those games. As for Summit Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 6-8.

Serra Catholic didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 57-45 win against Nazareth Prep on the 22nd. Summit Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
