Baseball Recap: Ankeny Comes Up Short

Ankeny was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 12-4 to the Northwest Wolves. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wolves this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-6 on Monday.

Ankeny's defeat dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Northwest, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-1.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Ankeny is set to square off against their familiar foe Dowling Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Northwest will challenge rival Urbandale at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing is sure in the Wolves' favor as the squad sits on seven straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while the J-Hawks have been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
