Basketball Recap: Washington Takes a Loss

Washington played a tough matchup on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by the Mardela Warriors 77-47. The Jaguars were down 55-33 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Despite the loss, Washington still got an impressive performance from Elijah Thomas, who went 9 for 12 on his way to 21 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Develle Morgan, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 boards.

Even though they lost, Washington smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in three consecutive contests.

Washington dropped their record down to 1-3 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Mardela, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-1.

Washington will host Bennett at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Mardela and Crisfield will compete for holiday cheer on Thursday.
