Soccer Game Preview: Denver Christian vs. Ridgway

The Denver Christian Thunder will challenge the Ridgway Demons at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Denver Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 2.5 goals per game this season.

Denver Christian's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They put the hurt on Liberty Common with a sharp 6-0 victory. It was an even better day for Lyla Scullion as she scored three goals for her team.

Meanwhile, it can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Ridgway had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Saints. The result kept Ridgway happy, as they haven't lost a game since April 22nd.

Ridgway has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 34 goals over those six contests. As for Denver Christian, they pushed their record up to 9-5-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Everything went Denver Christian's way against Ridgway in their previous matchup back in May of 2017, as Denver Christian made off with a 6-0 victory. Will the Thunder repeat their success, or do the Demons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
