Volleyball Recap: Lynchburg-Clay Falls to Hillsboro in First Game of Season

Lynchburg-Clay had to start their season on the road on Saturday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hillsboro Indians. The Mustangs haven't had much luck with the Indians recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Lynchburg-Clay was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-23.

Their offense was headlined by Halle Greene and Kylie O'Connor, who picked up five kills apiece. They got some help from Ava Mclaughlin and her 15 assists. Joslyn Rockey controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Lynchburg-Clay has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Whiteoak on the 16th. As for Hillsboro, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against McClain on the 16th.
